Isla Mujeres Elopement | Cheyenne + Mitchell

We are excited to announce that Cheyenne and Mitchell held their destination elopement on Isla Mujeres! The sky was ominous, but the love radiating from these two was oh so very bright!

Initially, their elopement was scheduled for April 2020, right after COVID became a real thing. They then postponed it until May 2021…Nope! That date wouldn’t work either. BUT…..October 18 did!

Cheyenne and Mitchell met in high school and started hanging out when they worked together at Burger King. Although they now call Oregon home, Cheyenne was actually born on Isla Mujeres! Her parents met on the island and also eloped here. You can’t get more romantic than that!

I first met up with them at their family’s home on the island for a special ‘first look’. It was so touching and absolutely lovely! We then jumped in a taxi and headed to the south side of the island. Punta Sur, where the sun first touches Mexico each morning, was where we spent about an hour taking photographs around the cliffs and crashing waves of this majestic destination.

We then headed over to our private beach location for their ceremony. Cheyenne and Mitchell walked down the aisle hand-in-hand which was so sweet. The ceremony was officiated by Sabina and they read their own vows they wrote. The ceremony finished with a flower petal toss into the Caribbean Sea and a bottle of champagne to celebrate.

We stayed on the beach taking photos until sunset. Cheyenne and Mitchell then met up with their friends to continue the celebration in town.
