Isla Mujeres Elopement at Punta Sur | Ixchel’s Well of Fortune | Leah + Andre

Leah and Andre met at work in a historic hotel in Galveston, Texas about a year ago. It didn’t take them long to realize that they had met the person of their dreams. Leah shared with me that she never felt more understood and loved before. How special is that!

Leah’s first time on the island was twenty three years ago and Andre’s first was when they arrived for their wedding celebration. Leah had wanted to share the island with Andre so they decided it would be the perfect place for their destination elopement.

They choose to hold their ceremony at Ixchel’s Well of Fortune because of its importance to the Mayan culture. Leah and Andre decided to read vows to each other. Although I could not hear them from my vantage point, I could tell that the words they were speaking to each other were from the heart and very special. After thier first kiss, the ceremony culminated with a petal offering into the sea.
