Isla Mujeres Punta Sur Elopement | Nicole + Colby

Punta Sur is the perfect setting for a destination elopement on Mexico’s Isla Mujeres and that’s exactly what Nicole and Colby thought!

They had a very, VERY interesting meeting which I won’t go into here, but I do want to share their love story with you.

After the initial ‘meeting’ it really all began for them ten years ago when they re-met at a friend’s party in the same town both of their families grew up in. This meeting was the one that really changed their lives.

Nicole and Colby have been together for ten years now; however, much of that time had been in a long-distance relationship. The reason for this was to maintain stability for the kids they had from previous marriages. They did share that although they were separate they “spent more loving, quality time together than most ‘normal’ couples out there”.

They were planning to come to Mexico for a friends wedding in Playa Mujeres when Colby pitched the idea of eloping on the island and Nicole was all in!

Both of them have been to the island before and loved it. When I asked them why they choose the island, they said it was on their list of favorite places to go!

Before we headed to Lookout Balcony for their ceremony, we explore the cliffs of Punta Sur taking photos. It was a magical day for an incredible couple!
