Isla Mujeres Beach Micro Wedding | Kari + Drake
Kari and Drake met ten years ago at a bar on St Patty’s Day weekend and ended up talking all night. Later that week, Drake sent her flowers with a note that read ‘whether it was fate or lucky coincidence, I’m glad I met you’. Kari still carries this note in her wallet to this day.
They wanted to keep their celebration low key and intimate and so they decided to combine their vacation and wedding together when they visited Isla Mujeres. They had never been to the island before, but their love for water, beach and the Caribbean was so strong that they thought it would be the perfect setting for their ‘I dos’.
They loved the idea of a private beach setting for their ceremony, but loved the images they saw of the crashing waves and cliffs at the island’s south point, so they decided to do a couple’s pre-session at Punta Sur before joining their guests on the beach for their wedding. Highlights from their Punta Sur session can be viewed here.
Surrounded by their family and close friends, Kari and Drake tied on the knot on our secluded beach. After their ceremony, they popped a few bottles of bubbly and toasted their love.
